In the exhibition preface, Bai Ming, a ceramic art expert and professor at Tsinghua University, argues that the kiln's legacy must be preserved by looking into the past to preserve its unique glaze formulas, firing techniques, and decorative methods, and by looking toward the present and future, inviting younger, educated and contemporary ceramic artists to join the effort.

"Only by building a bridge between tradition and innovation, and by bringing more people into this work, can the heritage of the Changsha kiln be truly revitalized," Bai wrote.

The exhibit runs until Aug 16 and is free to the public.
